Natural rubber sold in the market is mainly made from latex of trefoil rubber trees. 91%-94% of its components are rubber hydrocarbons, and the rest are non-rubber substances such as protein, fatty acid, ash, sugar and so on. Natural rubber is the most widely used general rubber.
about 2000 different plants in the world can produce polymers similar to natural rubber, and different kinds of rubber have been obtained from 500 of them, but the real practical value is the trefoil rubber tree. When the surface of the rubber tree is cut off, the latex in the bark is cut off and the latex flows out of the tree. The latex collected from rubber trees is diluted, solidified and washed with acid, then pressed, dried and packed to produce natural rubber for sale. Natural rubber can be made into tobacco sheet, air-dried film, crepe sheet, technically graded rubber and concentrated rubber according to different rubber making methods.
the main characteristics of natural rubber are as follows: (1) it has high Mooney viscosity (shear resistance caused by the rotation of the viscometer rotor in the die cavity), hardening in the storage process, easy crystallization at low temperature, and brittle substance at - 70 C. (2) Without a certain melting point, it softens completely when heated to 130-140 C and begins to decompose at about 200 C. (3) It has high elasticity, elastic modulus is about 3-6 MPa, and elastic elongation can reach 1000%. It is easy to mix with fillers and compounding agents, and can be used with most synthetic rubber. (5) Non-polar rubber expands in non-polar solvents, so it has poor oil and solvent resistance. _Because of the large number of unsaturated double bonds, high chemical activity, easy cross-linking and oxidation, poor aging resistance.
